Object Description

The Parliament Collection:
Two men (Kruger and Steyn) wearing long coats and top hats riding together on a donkey. Steyn is holding onto Kruger and has turned his head sideways to look at the viewer. He has a very worried expression, whereas Kruger is staring straight ahead, pipe in mouth. A sign post with place names shows they are leaving Pretoria and heading for Lourenco Marques. A flag pole flying the British flags is draped with banners with the names of Kimberley, Ladysmith, Mafeking, Bloemfontein and Pretoria.
