Permit - 358382

The application for a permit for this site is related to the Bontle Solar PV Park Development, located on the farms Randolph 17LS & Witfontein 18LS, Blouberg Local Municipality, Limpopo Province. The sites were identified and recorded during an earlier Phase 1 HIA assessment for the development work (Case ID 22423) and as they will be directly impacted on by the proposed development. The heritage features will be impacted by the authorised construction of the PV solar facility and the associated infrastructure. The material recovered during the excavation work will be curated by the Polokwane Cultural History Museum (Irish House) in Polokwane. A total of 11 sites are to be mitigated: 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, and 27. These are comprised of seven historical sites (5, 6, 10, 14, 17, 18, and 27); and 4 Iron Age sites (3, 11, 12, and 16).
