Thank you for submitting your application for the maintenance and restoration of the Madiba Prison House's adjacent Chef's House located on Schuurmansfontein Road, Portion 2 of Farm 942 at the Farm Watervleit at the Drakenstein Correctional Centre, within the jurisdiction of the Drakenstein Local Municipality within the Cape Winelands District Municipality, Western Cape Province in accordance with Section 27(18) of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999. The purpose of this permit application is for the external repainting of exterior walls, repairs and repainting of windows and doors, repairing of damaged roof tiles and rainwater goods. Internally, the permit is for the repainting of walls, repair and repainting of ceilings, the replacement of vinyl flooring, the repainting of door frames, the repair and repainting of kitchen cabinetry, general maintenance and cleaning of the bathroom and kitchen as well as for new electrical installations. The proposed activities aligns with the statutory provisions intended to protect and conserve South Africa's national heritage resources.
