[Table Mountain and Devil's Peak from Newlands (Cape Town lies at the back of the mountain)]; Brown paper label that was stuck on the back of the work (discarded when work was removed from frame): Newlands - Cape of Good Hope - of the "Narcissus" frigate - circa 1850.
