Proposed Goldwind’s Laydown Area for Karreebosch Wind Farm Project near Sutherland, Northern Cape Province

Goldwind New Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd proposes clearing of vegetation of approximately 12ha to establish a temporary laydown area for the storage of wind turbine components in support of the construction phase of the Karreebosch Wind Energy facility. The proposed storage/laydown area is located next to the R354 road near Sutherland on Portion 0 of the Farm Karree Bosch 200, within the jurisdiction of the Karroo Hoogland Local Municipality and Namakwa District Municipality, Northern Cape Province. Alternative locations for the laydown area are mapped below.

The infrastructure associated with the laydown area includes:
Access roads between 6m-12m in width.
Temporary fencing around the laydown area up to 2m in height and gates of approximately 20m in length for the entry and exit roads.
