The permit application in respect of the above, received and reviewed by the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) on the 29 January 2025 refers.  

Please be advised as follows:

• The application was discussed and, the committee noted that internal alterations were proposed to change the use from residential to medical offices.
• The photographs submitted did not meet requirements as set out in the application guidelines. Therefore, you are required to provide photographs as per guidelines (all four sides of external elevations, internal photographs and streetscape).
• The set of drawings submitted did not include elevations and sections , therefore, it was not clear how the removal of the veranda would impact on the front façade; kindly provide a full set of drawings including sections and elevations.
• Previously approved drawings for any subsequent alterations are required.

Written responses/requests for reconsideration of the application or consideration of new information must be loaded to the case on Sahris (email [email protected]).

Required additional information or revised drawings must be submitted within six months from the date of this letter or the application will lapse, and a new application will be required.

THIS LETTER DOES NOT CONSTITUTE FORMAL APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED TO THE INSTITUTE.  UNAUTHORISED WORK CARRIED OUT ON THE ABOVE SITE WILL BE IN CONTRAVENTION OF THE KWAZULU-NATAL AMAFA AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE ACT (5 of 2018).
