REFERRAL LETTER

Please be advised as follows: -

  1. The developers must revise their proposal in line with the suitable PV areas indicated in green by the heritage practitioners or CTS Heritage as shown on page 33, Figure 6.1. 
  2. The original layout cannot be approved since this will cause the loss and damage of the majority of heritage resources identified (Figure 1.3 page 9 or the Overview Map).
  3. Recommendations and Mitigation, listed in table 4.1. must be adhered to throughout the development process.
  4. The identified sensitive areas of the koppies cannot be impacted by any new development.
  5. Ongoing community access to these burial areas must be ensured.
  6. A heritage conservation management plan must be developed and implemented for the burials throughout the development.
  7. Should any archaeologial materials, human remains or burials be discovered during development, development must stop and the KZN Amafa & Research Institute must be contacted for a way forward.

Written responses/requests for review of the decision taken must be received via email to  [email protected]within 30 days of the date of this letter or any decision contained herein will be considered final.
