REFERRAL LETTER
The permit application in respect of the above, received and reviewed by the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) refers.
Please be advised as follows:
- The committee noted that work had been carried out in accordance with plans approved by the municipality in 2019 without prior approval from Amafa.
- The owner's representative contended that the property had not reached 60 years of age at that stage, but the Virginia Housing Scheme had been designed and approved in 1956, making the building 63 years of age in 2019.
- It was noted that the proposed alterations including an extension to the laundry and an additional unit on the property had not been carried out.
The application was therefore referred for further requirements, detailed below.
