    The Parliament Collection:
    A plant with two flowers and many green leaves. The flower in the top left is visible, while the one to the right only shows the under side of the flower which is brown. (Part of a collection, see 34340)La Belle Fleur du Protea Argentea qui se 1. trouve sur les Montagnes du Lange Kloof. 2. L'Etui de la Fleur lorque la Fleur est passee, Il est couvert d'une Resine tres odoriferante, que recuillent les Hottentots pour sen parfumer.; The beautiful flower of the Protea Argentea [Silver Protea], which 1. is found on the Langkloof mountains. 2. The bracts [casing] of the flower when the latter is dead. It is covered with a very odoriferous [sweet-smelling] resin which the Hottentots collect to scent themselves [use as a perfume]. [Probably intended to be a Protea multibracteata or P. punctata. See Notes.]
