C'est un Genre Nouveau.; One of the most beautiful plants of Africa, tall and entirely covered with large button-like protuberances from which protrude very long, very sharp thornsfrom the centre of the upper part of the stem [trunk] there issues [grows] a bunch of flowers, carmine in colour, and with jagged leaves.
