    Object Description

    Jackson Nottingham 16 GA shotgun

    Provenance

This shotgun is inherited from my wife’s Grandfather Jack Heymann who brought it with him from England in the early 1900’s when he left England for good to live in South Africa and married a local girl.

Jack came to fight in the Boer war in 1900 in a British regiment and decided to come back and settle in Aberdeen in the Karroo in South Africa after the war..He brought the shotgun with him as his personal hunting weapon.

He previously lived in Nottingham in Britian and as can be seen the gun was made by a Nottingham gunsmith .

The shotgun was left my wife’s father Cluny Heymann who was the son of Jack Heymann . When Cluny Heymann passed away the shotgun was left to my wife Marlene Heymann.

It is a family heirloom that we want our son to have that has settled in the USA
