SAHRA Deveopment Applications Unit (DAU):

• The SAHRA DAU notes that the families to whom the graves identified have not been formally consulted.
• The SAHRA DAU is requesting a formal consultation of the family by the applicant and discuss the findings of the report regarding the distances between the graves and development footprint.
• Proof of consultation must be submitted and integrated into the HIA report.
• The SAHRA DAU will issue a decision once the HIA has been amended to be compliant with all requirements of section 38(3) of the NHRA, including the consultation of community members affected by the proposed development.
