APPROVAL LETTER

We acknowledge receipt of your application for a permit to carry out work on the above property.  The KZN Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) reviewed the application on 26 February 2025.

Please be advised as follows: -

  1. In terms of the drawings submitted, the committee has noted that the front facade and the enclosed area at the rear of the property have been properly depicted on the drawings.
  2. The committee, however, has noted with concern that the submitted drawings do not properly depict the full details of the proposed work and therefore properly drawn plans will still need to be done.
  3. Upon consideration the committee has resolved to approve partial alterations including work on the kitchen floor, minor work at the rear of the property and the repositioning of the window to a door on condition that detailed drawings of the work that still needs to be done on the property will be sent to Amafa for approval.
  4. Please note that this letter cannot be used as a permit on in place of it thereof.
  5. Prior written approval from The Institute is required for any deviation to approved plans.

Please note that the above property contains a structure(s) protected in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute Act (5 of 2018), and a permit must be obtained prior to any work being conducted on the property in the future. Failure to do so is a criminal offence punishable by a term of imprisonment or a fine, or both. The property may also be forfeited to the state or a moratorium may be placed on any development thereon.
