Interim Comment
While the EA has been submitted, no other documents as previously requested have been provided i.e. previous SAHRIS Case ID and HIA. The same motivation letter that was submitted in 2024, has been provided without the requested updates. The technical drawings that have been submitted do not show the proposed roadworks on the farm Waterval 310, but of road works on farms far from the site.
In a letter emailed to SAHRA regarding this application, it is requested that SAHRA provide landowner details to the applicant. SAHRA is not in possession of this information. As shown in the submitted technical drawings, landowner contact details are available from SANRAL.
Once the landowner is contacted, permission must be sought to conduct the requested on-site assessment. The 30m strip of land to be alienated (i.e. destroyed by the construction of the road) must be surveyed and any heritage resources within that area must be recorded.
The permit will be further processed upon receipt of the above requested information, in conjunction with Heritage Free State.
