Proposed Archaeological Excavations at Crowned Eagle Shelter on the property of Zuka private Game Reserve,

The project aims to establish a chrono-cultural and paleoenvironmental reference sequence for the Middle and Later Stone Age (MSA and LSA) in northern KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa.
Despite ongoing fieldwork in southern KZN, Eswatini and Mozambique a large area of archaeological no-mans-land in between exists. The proposed project aims to improve this situation via the excavation of Crowned Eagle Shelter situated at the intersection between these regions
