Proposal Description
South Africa Mainstream Renewable Power Developments (Pty) Ltd (Mainstream) is proposing to develop the Inanda Solar PV Energy Facility (SEF) and its associated grid infrastructure in North West Province The Inanda SEF will connect to the Eskom grid either through a loop-in-loop-out connection into an 88 kV powerline or directly into the existing Hekpoort Substation.
The proposed Project is located approximately 21 km south west and from the town of Hartbeespoort in the Local Municipality of Madibeng within the Bojanala District Municipality in the North-West Province. The Inanda SEF aims to achieve a targeted maximum generation capacity of up to 56 MW.
Mainstream has appointed SLR Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd as the Independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake the required Scoping and EIA (SEIA) process for the proposed SEF in terms of the EIA Regulation 2014 (as amended) promulgated under the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA)
