Interim Comment:

The SAHRA Development Applications Unit (DAU) is making the following comments in terms of section 38(8) of the National Heritage Resources Act as contemplated by the EIA process in terms of section 24(4)b(ii) of NEMA:

• The SAHRA DAU notes the submission of the HIA report.
• The applicant is required to fully establish the nature and extent of RD002, RD003 and RD004. The sites must be fully recorded, graded and their condition included in the amended HIA that will accommodate this comment.
• This comment relates to the preferred Stockpile 1 and should there be a change of preference, SAHRA will issue comments specifically for the identified alternative Stockpile 2 on which no heritage resources were identified.
• Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the information requested for RD002, RD003 and RD004 as well as a confirmed development site.
