The development of a photovoltaic (PV) solar energy facility with a contracted capacity of up to 400MW which will include PV panels, collector substation, 132kV power line, access roads (gravel in nature), inverters, temporary laydown areas, Operation and Maintenance Buildings. The project site is located between Somerset East and Makhanda approximately 45km south-east of Somerset East, within the Blue Crane Route Local Municipality and the Sarah Baartman District Municipality in the Eastern Cape Province. The site falls within Focus Area 3 of the Renewable Energy Development Zones (REDZ), which is known as the Cookhouse REDZ.
