Proposal Description
Naos Solar PV Project One (RF) (Pty) Ltd requires an EA for the reroute of the OHL corridor and an additional section of the access road that was authorised by DFFE (14/12/16/3/3/1/3022) in September 2024 due to Eskom requirements and landowner preference. The following infrastructure requires assessment:
An access road up to 3 km long and 12 m wide that will connect to previously authorised access roads to provide access to the Naos Solar PV Projects; and Five 132 kV OHL corridors with only one OHL corridor requiring EA. OHL Corridor 3 is the preferred OHL corridor while OHL Corridor 1, 1a, 1b and 2 are the alternative corridors. All OHL corridors will be assessed in the BA process. The OHL will evacuate electricity from the Naos Solar PV Project One to the existing Eskom Mercury Main Transmission Substation (MTS).
The project is located near Viljoenskroon in the Moqhaka Local Municipality, Fezile Dabi District municipality, Free State Province.
Province(s): Free State
