    Proposal Description
    The proposal is to develop a privately-owned security tactical training facility for non-military purposes. The
    facility will include outdoor shooting ranges to enable the Professional Protection Alternatives (Pty) Ltd (PPA)
    to train its security officers and / or security officers employed by the PPA group of companies, to ensure that
    the security officers are compliant with the Firearms control act, no 60 of 2000, the private security industry
    regulations Act, no 56 of 2001 and the regulations thereto.
    PPA Tactical is accredited by the South African Police Services (SAPS) and the South African Professional
    Firearms Trainers Council (PFTC) to provide all levels of firearm training. PPA also provide training to clients
    and other private security companies for these persons to satisfy the requirements of the above mentioned
    regulations.
    The facility is to consist of shooting ranges (four different shooting ranges) created by earth embankments a
    minimum of 5m high and 6m wide and covered with sand bags containing Kevlar off cuts. The perimeters
    rifle range berm / stop butt to be earth embankment minimum 8m high and 6 meters wide covered with sand
    bags containing Kevlar off cuts. The embankments are to have a maximum 50-degree slope. The existing
    shed to be used for storage and new containers are proposed for storage purposes.
