In terms of the additions to the existing dwelling, Pool & awnings between the Dwelling & outbuilding; the client was unaware that these did not have municipal approval as he purchased the property with those structures already built on it.
The Awning at the front of the house was required for my client to have a sheltered area to be outdoors during inclement weather, the installers of the awning did not notify the client that municipal approval is required for this structure. After the construction of the new garage, the client was aware that plans needed to be submitted. My drawing office was then contacted and flagged all of these structures and advised the client that all the unauthorized structures need to be legalized with the Municipality.
