Rescue Permit Application for

During mining activities at Mafube Coal, a potential chance find grave was identified. Digby Wells Environmental was appointed by Mafube Coal to assess the discovery. A qualified archaeologist conducted the assessment and recommended applying for a permit to undertake a rescue investigation and possible exhumation if skeletal remains are found.
A Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey was also advised to determine whether additional graves may be present in the surrounding area. The proposed rescue permit application process is located in the Mpumalanga Province.
