Object Description
In leather-covered case. This instrument, c. 1941, consists of 2 tubes, one of which has a slit at its end, and the other, sliding with in the first, contains an eyepiece and prism. A test tube of the solution to be examined is placed between the slit and a source of illumination. Line spectra of solutions such as oxyhaemoglobin, reduced haemoglobin, carboxyhaemoglobin, methaemoglobin, haemochromogen and haematoporphyrin were determined during practical classes. Material: Metal. Colour: Painted black. Maker: Beck, c. 1940.
