THD Shongweni Development (DM/0003/2012)

The development of the extensive Westown complex is partly underway. Some of the structures indicated in the original HIA (dated 2012) have already been demolished / altered under previous permits (these are attached). These are indicated as sites 6 and 7 in the original HIA, namely Estate Manager House 2 and Seasonal Labour Compound.
Approval is sought for the current phase of the development on the remainder of Kirkfalls 14227, which will impact structures on sites 5 and 8 (full time labour cottages and look out tower). Both of these have minimal heritage value.
