Proposal Description
Eco Elementum (Pty) Ltd (hereinafter EcoE) has been appointed as independent Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAPs) to undertake the required processes to obtain environmental authorisations to prospect Copper, Cobalt, Silver, Gold, Nickel and Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) over Portions 0, 2, 7 and 8 of the Farm Sand Vlei No. 70 in the Northern Cape Province. The project area measures an approximately 16603.54 hectares (Ha) and is situated approximately 55 km southwest of Kakamas, within the Kai !Garib Local Municipality of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa.
The proposed project entails the application of a Prospecting Right (PR) for Northern Cape Copper Projects (Pty) Ltd (hereinafter Northern Cape Copper Projects) in terms of Section 16 of the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Act (Act No.28 of 2002) (MPRDA) (as amended) and its associated regulations, and the National Environmental Management Act (Act No 107 of 1998) (NEMA) (as amended) and its associated Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014 (as amended).
