Statement of Significance
Paarl Mountain consists of a prominent hilly landmass composed of Early Cambrian granite of the Cape Granite Suite. It received its name in 1657 from the Dutch settlers who noted the bare domes of granite, wet with dew, glistening in the morning sun.
