The Parliament Collection:
20 black and white Photograph primarily of mines and machinery and interesting two young boys wearing traditional beadwork (13 and 14). One photograph per page. Different techniques appear to have been used: 1 - 14 black and white, and 14-20 sepia. Bultfontien mine was owned by Mendelssohn at one time. New Bultfontien Mining Co. REDUNDANT ASSET-An identical locomotive of this class - Locomotive 15AR # 1850 is preserved at the Bloemfontein Locomotive depot and forms part of the Transnet collection. The museum has two books where the history of this class is captured " Locomotive of South Africa" by Leith Paxton and David Bourne and "Railways of Southern Africa" by Jean Dulez. Drawings(plans) and other historical information relating to this class is in safe custody at the Transnet Heritage Library.
