Scrapbook of various early Cape printed and handwritten items that were collected by A. Gordon-Brown. Each page has a separate typewritten heading at the top. Drawing on a page of a letter from Smyth to his sister in London, depicting the well-known French composer and conductor, Louis Antoine Jullien. Small portrait sketches of nine musicians: seven are playing wind instruments, one a violin, plus the conductor with his baton raised above his head.
