This station was used as the half way stop between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Passengers got off the train for twenty minutes to enjoy a meal at the Inchanga Hotel. Plaque erected by the Durban Metro Committee for the Centenary commemoration of the Anglo-Boer War.
