Description
More than 35000 white South Africans, of which 6000 were burghers on command ,and 27000 were women and children in the concentration camps, died during the Anglo Boer South African War of 1899-1902. The number of black people interned in the concentration camps reached a maximum of 115874 in June 1902. By the end of the war, about 30000people of colour were serving the British, while another 12000 served the Boers as agterryers. The number of casualties among the blacks racial group is unknown.
