This is a site of Sol Plaatje's office and printing works for the first Setswana protest newspaper, "Koranta ea Bechuana", from 1902 to 1910. The newspaper was edited by Sol Plaatje and financed by Silas Molema and later by Spencer Minchin. In 1910 the Plaatje family left for Kimberly.
