    Description

The Old Fort was named after the camp in which the British were besieged by the Boers in 1842, which they occupied till 1897. There after it was neglected until Colonel Molyneux revamped the building and its gardens. What were once the Old barracks rooms have now been renovated to serve as retirement accommodation for ex soldiers and their families. The site is open for public to explore and learn it, the rooms where families stay are restricted to be visited.
