Description
The Old Court House Museum was opened on 24 May 1866. Since then it has played host to many famous and infamous people. The building was loop-holed during the Anglo-Zulu war of 1879 and bore witness to the first and second South African Wars as well as Bambatha Rebellion. More recently it served as a a recruitment Centre and canteen during the two World Wars. In 1965 it became the home of eThekwini Municipality's Local History Museum.
