Description
Monument was erected to celebrate the 1956-1958 Women Anti-Pass Campaign. This was a national campaign but this was for the women in Lehurutshe.One of the historic rural women uprising against pass laws took place inLehurutshe near Zeerust. In 1957, in Gopane, only eight women out of thepopulation of 4 000 purchased passbooks from the passbook mobile unit.
