    The Toll Gate.
    Inscriptions
    The toll gate was established here on 15 December 1815. The gate extended from this point to the Toll House, which stood on the opposite half of the present road. Thus with all toll gate in the Cape Tiwn Peninsula was abolished on 15th August 1901,and the Toll House was demolished at the end of 1904. Refer to the images.
