/Warrenton Bridge on National Route N18. The low level bridge was built in the 1930 and opened to the public on the 29 October 1931. The office of the chief inspector of roads of the Cape Provincial Administration was responsible for the design. The construction works were taken up by Mr. Marshall. The low level bridge had been in operation for 82 years. The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) decided to improve the freeboard height during high floods of the Vaal river and to also enhance the overall traffic flow and safety on National Rout N18 by constructing the 36m, 16-span bridge next to the low level bridge. Construction commenced in July 2011 and was completed in September 2012. The bridge was designed by SANRAL and constructed by the CIVILCON-PELE KAOFELA JOINT VENTURE and supervised by SNA Civil and structural engineers (PTY)LDT./
