    Description

The purpose of this memorial is to honor the work of the South African Women's Federation, which was a group of women who were very concerned about post-war needs of people. The South African Women's Federation (SAVF) placed their hand chiselled Memorial stone in the garden of remembrance, but later moved it to its present location. The SAVF began to maintain the Cemetery in 1911. From 1914, the SAVF held an annual wreath laying ceremony in the Memorial garden.
