    Inscriptions
Dogs have always been inextricably linked to game ranger and his work. On numerous occasions lives were saved by the timeous warnings of the dogs against danger. When working in the bush with his or her master , they sometimes managed to divert a dangerous animal's attention in order to allow enough time for the master to take the necessary action to safeguard lives. Many of these pets died in their efforts to save lives while others died of old age. Not all the dogs that died in the Kruger National Park are buried here, only the few for which headstones were erected. The close bond that existed between the animal and its master is evident in these headstones.
