    The commission also prepared plans for a timber shed it was to have 10 windows the beams and window frames were to be yellow- wood and it was built next to the positional stone ,the contract for this building and for a house for the post holder Mr J F Meeding on the farm of Mr C Van Der Walt near the spring was awarded to Mr Jan Jerling a farmer in the area the timber shed was completed in August 1788 but soon had to be roofed due to the disintegration of the lime in the building mixture,the new thatched roof was also unsuccessful and by 1803 had collapsed.Purpose:Date Unveiled: 11 September 1936Designer: Lt.J G van Reenen and two burgher councilors mr MeedingBuilder: Mr Jan JerlingPerson/Institution Commemorated: Lt.J.G van ReenenRecorder Name: Luyanda and Masego
