The SAHRA issued a comment on the DBAR on the 1st of December 2022 outlining small additions to be made that would result in the mitigation measures for tangible MUCH resources being satisfactory. These have been included and the SAHRA is satisfied with the chance finds procedure outlined as Impact 17, in Table 4.1 on pages 61-62 of the DBAR.
In the same comment, the SAHRA asked for further consultation with river space users who might be unaware of the proposed works as these might impact their access to the river in the short term. Evidence has been provided under Section 3.1 on page 69 of the Public Participation Report indicating that the Colchester North Community Chairman and manager of the local fishers were furnished with full details of this development. In this section it is further stated that issues raised by the community will be included in the Final BAR (FBAR). Pending the concerns of these community members relating to their intangible cultural heritage (ICH), which will be assessed when the SAHRA comments on the FBAR, SAHRA currently has no reason to object to the proposed works as the mitigation measures for MUCH are satisfactory.
Please note that all updates and/or changes to the project, supporting documentation, correspondence, reports, or any other work relating to the project must be uploaded to the case on SAHRIS to provide SAHRA with the opportunity to comment. SAHRA does not accept emailed documents or hard-copy documents received via post.
