Final Comment

SAHRA notes the request for the delayed submission of the HMP. The applicant is advised of the following:

• As the HMP is still being compiled, the construction may commence, however, the recommendations provided in the HIA regarding bufferzones and sites to be avoided must be adhered to;
• It is recommended that that the areas where heritage resources have been identified be avoided during the initial phases of construction to ensure no accidental damage occurs;
• All subcontractors and on-site personal must be informed of the presence of heritage resources and the consequences of damage to these sites i.e. offences in terms of the NHRA;
• The HMP must be submitted to SAHRA within the next 3 months of the date of this comment;
• All other conditions provided in the Final Comment issued on 21/06/2023 are valid and must be adhered to.
