Interim Comment

The SAHRA Development Application Unit (DAU) notes the submission of the HIA and desktop PIA. However, a field-based PIA is recommended in the desktop PIA, therefore, a field based Palaeontological Impact Assessment (PIA) that complies with the 2012 Minimum Standards: Palaeontological Components of Heritage Impact Assessments must be undertaken. Further Comments will be issued upon receipt of the field-based PIA. The applicant is advised to extend the EA process in terms of section 19(1)b of the NEMA EIA regulations in order to address this comment. Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the above requested reports.
