TEST EXCAVATIONS AT 19 LOCALITIES CLAIMED AS GRAVES AT MOGALAKWENA MINE, WITHIN THE MOGALAKWENA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY AND WATERBERG DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, LIMPOPO PROVINCE – BATCH 8 (Unconsented Application)

PGS Heritage (Pty) Ltd (PGS) has been appointed by Anglo American Platinum’s (AAP) Mogalakwena Mine to affect the relocation of graves. The project commenced in 2019, and mitigation occurred in various batches as consent was received. This application deals with 19 localities claimed as graves by families on these farms, which will be affected by mining activities within the Mogalakwena project area. The next step regarding this application is to conduct test excavations at 19 localities claimed to be graves to determine the veracity of the claims. The areas earmarked for test excavations are located on the Farms Overysel 815 LR and Zwartfontein 818 LR, near Mokopane, Limpopo Province.
