Interim Comment
The SAHRA DAU requests that Rehabilitation and Closure Plan with associated documentation and appendices must be submitted so that an informed comment may be issued.
Additionally, the SAHRA DAU Unit is unable to provide a comment on this case, as Palaeontological Impact Assessment report is outdated, not for the current proposed rehabilitation project, and does not comply with the SAHRA Minimum Standards for Heritage Specialist Studies in terms of Section 38 of the National Heritage Resources Act (No. 25 of 1999). The PIA must be updated to reflect the current EIA application of rehabilitation of the Koffiefontein Open-pit Diamond Mine.
