      Statement of Significance

The subject site falls within the Cape Winelands Cultural Landscape, a Grade I heritage site, which has been identified by the Council of the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) in 2006. The heritage significance of the farm is first and foremost its contribution to the greater Constantia-Tokai component of the Cape Winelands Cultural Landscape. As such, it should remain rural in character and the continuation of its farming activities and the preservation of views across its vineyards are essential.
