    In Memory of Colonel James Henry Bowker. F.L.S., F.R.C.S. & C. An Ardent Naturalist, especially in the Department of Entomology and Botany. At one time (1868-1871.) H.E. The High Commissioner's Agent in Basutoland, and thereafter for many years, Commandant of the Frontier Armed and Mounted Police, Cape Colony. Born in Lower Albany, Cape Colony, 1826. Died at Malvern, Natal, 27th October, 1900.
