La Gueule, Ouverte de Couleur purpurine, ou l'on voit ses rangees de dents, et sa langue rougeatre a deux pointes.; 1. Horned adder called Horingsmannetjie by the colonists and the Hottentots. It is the most dangerous in Africa and no remedy has been found against its bite. 2. The open jaws of a purplish colour where it rows of teeth are to be seen, and also its reddish forked tongue.
