This is essentially a rigid, curved plastic tube. It is an airway adjunct. It is used to provide an airway for a patient where there is an impaired level of consciousness, c. 1925.

Specialty laryngeal forceps for use in endolaryngeal procedures have features such as cage tips to retain tissue, long working lengths to ensure maximum reach, and angled jaws to enable instruments to pass behind the tongue.

A laryngeal probe is a useful tool in a variety of airway procedures. The probe is used to inspect for new growths and ulcerations as well as the consistency of the airway tissue. The blunted end of the probe ensures minimal tissue damage during the inspection. Straight and angled probes are available depending on surgical need, c. 1930.
