Giant dyke Kromdraai

The Parliament Collection:
Shows False Bay from Muizenberg to Simonstown with an inset diagram giving points of reference. The work is inscribed to Admiral Lord Keith commander of the naval expedition which led to the taking of the Cape in 1795.

Used for brushing away flies. Xhosa, colourful beadwork decoration on the handle. Length 630 mm, diameter 10 mm.

Worn on or around the head. Xhosa, beadwork: White, blue and black. Length 160 mm, breadth 40 mm.

To hold or store scheduled doses of medicine. Xhosa, horn, covered with beadwork, white, blue and black. Length: 160 mm, diameter 100 mm.
