An identical locomotive of this class - Locomotive 15F # 2994 is preserved at the Klein Plasie Museum Worcester(Transnet Asset)and forms part the Transnet collection. 8 other 15F's are on loan to preservation clubs. The museum has two books where the history of this class is captured " Locomotive of South Africa" by Leith Paxton and David Bourne and "Railways of Southern Africa" by Jean Dulez. Drawings(plans) and other historical information relating to this class is in safe custody at the Transnet Heritage Library.

The ostrich eggshell recovered from the early and mid-Holocene contexts from Grassridge Rockshelter. These are unmodified fragments and does not include the worked ostrich eggshell (eg. beads and preforms).

The ostrich eggshell and bead collection from the 2014-2016 excavations at Grassridge Rockshelter. This collection will be quantified during the proposed analysis, and is described in the attached catalogue.

10 non-artefactual ostrich eggshell fragments from Grassridge Rockshelter

OSL samples from the lower deposits at Grassridge Rockshelter, Eastern Cape. These samples consist of 3 cm diameter x 7 cm long tubes of sediment only, which have been extracted from profiles at Grassridge.

Sediment samples from Grassridge Rockshelter that will be analysed for ancient DNA. Each sample will consist of 10 mL of sediment from Opperman's original north section and not contain any artefacts. Samples will be sent to the UK for ancient DNA analysis to complement our understanding of the palaeoecology at the site. 17 samples will be collected from the Late Pleistocene occupation (~45 - 30 ka), 7 from the early Holocene occupation (~14 - 11 ka), and 15 from the mid-Holocene occupation (~7 ka).

7 sediment samples from the Early Holocene occupation at Grassridge Rockshelter. These samples will be 10 mL each and will not contain any artefacts. The samples will be sent to the UK for ancient DNA analysis.
